Web Design Tips
A website is an online identity of a company. It presents a company online 24/7. It’s the best sales man of the company that provides information about the products and services. It makes the potential customers understand about a company, its product and services, price quotes, testimonials, contact information.Every one, who has the knowledge of internet, knows that web is the visual interface and what people look on the web will be manipulated and interpreted into their mind and perception. While designing or developing a website for business one must be careful about use of color effects, lights, visual effects, positioning and size of content and specially use of Search Engine friendly technologies, so that visitors who visits your site must remember your website name first and search you first on the web.
The question arises is that how to make a website user and Search Engine friendly? There are some tips before you start your website design and development project. I collectively gather these tips from my own experience. It may or may not work for you but I got the results for my company. I am sharing my success. Below are some of the SEO tips I hope that would work out for you also.1. Selecting Domain Name: While selecting a domain for your business, see that your product/service keywords should include in it. For example suppose you deals in leather shoes in California, the better choose the keyword “leather shoes” in your domain name. Try to buy TLDs (Top level domains) like .com.
2. Design and structure of website: Make a simple design with cool colors related to your business, the navigation of the website must smooth with our any interruption. There should not be any internal broken link in your design, visitors don’t like broken links. It might also effects SEO process. Design the site in HTML using div tags and CSS.
3. Download time: Don’t use large number of images, more javascript and more flash files. These will take lot of time to download your site. Online visitors don’t like those sites which takes lot of time to download. Ask your development team or company to keep your site download time less than 15sec if you use the above mention services.
4. Content: Write a unique and original content for your web pages. Search Engine and online browsers love content. Follow two points while writing content, for Search Engine robots use original content incorporated with your researched keywords and the second point is it must be useful information and descriptive to the users who visit your site. This will help them revisit again and again. Use the keywords in page heading, sub-headings and also in paragraphs.
5. Design a sitemap: Design a good navigation HTML sitemap. Sitemap helps search engine robots to easily crawl and index all your web pages. It works as a guide to search engine robots as well to a visitor. Create XML and TEXT sitemaps for better search engine indexing.
6. Anchor Text: Write good descriptive anchor text for the links incorporated with related keyword phrases.
7. Alt Tags: Write alt tags for images, title tags for links.
8. Internal linking structure: The internal linking structure should be smooth, and each and every page should be inter-linked with each other.
9. Web page titles: Write unique and quality titles for each web page incorporated with researched keyword phrases. Keyword phrases should be page related. Write descriptive, informative and appealing description for each page with keywords in them.
